Many people may wonder, ‘How does ultrasound tighten the face?’ This article answers that question.
Our Ultherapy Program is a very popular face-lifting program because it helps make the face look firmer and younger without surgery. Still, many people wonder, “How does ultrasound lift the face?”, or have questions like “How is ultrasound for face-lifting different from ultrasound waves used to see a baby in the womb?”. This article answers all your questions because clarity is key to feeling safe and confident throughout your procedure.
Normally, people associate ultrasound with being able to see a baby in the womb or to see internal organs. This type of ultrasound is a low-energy ultrasound used for disease diagnosis. It is called “Ultrasound imaging”, which is different from the ultrasound that’s used for skin tightening, which produces more energy and heat.
For the Ultherapy Program, the skin-tightening ultrasound uses a frequency of approximately 4-7 megahertz, which causes the ultrasound energy to reach the dermis, fat, and muscle membranes known as SMAS. This creates heat under the skin at approximately 60-70 degrees Celsius, which is enough to stimulate collagen production, making the sagging face firmer.
Ultherapy Program is similar to a facelift surgery that requires lifting the muscle membranes. The difference is that the ultrasound facelift program will not leave surgical wounds and does not require recovery time.
Additionally, in Ultherapy Program, the heat energy from the ultrasound machine is sent to the skin, reaching deeper than a laser or a general radio wave lifting program, thus reducing the chances of the top layer of skin being disturbed, ultimately reducing the risk of skin burns after treatment.
The difference between Ultherapy Program and other general ultrasound lifting programs is that Ultherapy Program has an Ultrasound Imaging system which can “see” the facial structure and skin layers while shooting energy down (Real-Time Visualization). This allows the work to be more specific to the SMAS layer, and more accurate, unlike a machine that does not have a screen.
Therefore, ultrasound used to lift and tighten the SMAS layer is considered the core feature that makes Ultherapy Program so effective. At ATTA Clinic, care is provided by Dr. Atita Inwong (Dr. Sroy), a radiology specialist with expertise in ultrasound. Utilizing diagnostic imaging guidance without surgery, she performs detailed ultrasound scans of each individual’s facial structure to diagnose and create a personalized treatment plan. This procedure increases the accuracy of sending energy deep and specifically to the SMAS layer, providing worthwhile results.
To fully care for each patient, Dr. Sroy limits the number of cases admitted per day in order to achieve the most effective results of Ultherapy Program.
