What is a Filler?
Fillers are injectable substances designed to restore lost volume in the deeper tissue layers of the face. They help rejuvenate areas like the midface, cheekbones, and jawline while also softening lines and wrinkles that can deepen over time. The fillers used are made from hyaluronic acid (HA), a natural substance found in the body known for its ability to retain moisture, giving the skin a hydrated and plump appearance. HA fillers are safe, can be naturally absorbed by the body over time, and are reversible if needed.
Exclusive Filler Technique at ATTA Clinic - The SFIL Program
Our SFIL Program, or Scan-Fill-Lift technique, combines ultrasound technology with filler injections to lift and contour the face. Dr. Sroy’s expertise in facial ultrasound enables accurate assessment of facial structure before filler placement, ensuring safety and effectiveness.
SFIL Program :
Scan
A facial ultrasound scan is used to plan the filler placement precisely, avoiding blood vessels and personalizing the approach to each individual’s facial structure.
Fill
The filler is used to replace volume loss in areas like bone and deep fat layers, supporting lax ligaments, and lifting sagging skin, giving a rejuvenated, lifted appearance.
Lift
This technique creates a natural lift, softening under-eye hollows and smile lines for a refreshed and youthful look.

How Do Fillers Work?
The dermal fillers we use at the clinic are made from hyaluronic acid, a glycoprotein naturally found in human skin. Although the fillers are synthetically produced, they closely resemble the body’s natural HA. HA serves as a structural component and hydrator for tissues, forming a cross-linked gel that holds its shape upon injection. When injected into areas with volume loss, these fillers naturally restore facial fullness. HA fillers are absorbed safely by the body over time, leaving no lasting side effects. If aesthetic results are unsatisfactory, HA fillers can be dissolved with an enzyme called hyaluronidase.
Types of Fillers
Temporary Fillers
Made from hyaluronic acid, these fillers are safe, provide natural-looking results, and can be absorbed by the body over time, allowing for adjustments if necessary.
Semi-Permanent Fillers
These fillers are denser and last up to 2 years, requiring skilled application due to a higher risk of side effects. In Thailand, these fillers, often called collagen biostimulators, promote collagen production, enhancing skin elasticity and firmness over several weeks or months. Examples include:
- Sculptra : Made from poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA)
- Radiesse : Contains calcium hydroxylapatite
- Ultracol : Composed of polydioxanone (PDO) microspheres
Permanent Fillers
These fillers do not dissolve naturally and can cause long-term skin issues like inflammation or distortion. Materials like silicone and paraffin, which are not FDA-approved, are strictly prohibited for injections.
Benefits of Filler Treatments
Filler treatments require no downtime and offer immediate results, restoring fullness to the mid and lower face, reducing deep lines, and enhancing facial contours without surgery.

Common Treatment Areas for Fillers
With age, the facial structure loses volume in areas like bones and deep fat, leading to sagging and the formation of deep lines. Fillers help lift the face and restore lost volume for a natural, youthful appearance. Popular areas include:
- Lips : For hydration and fullness, balancing lip shape with the face.
- Under Eyes : To reduce hollows, giving a refreshed look.
- Cheeks : To lift and add volume to sunken cheeks.
- Face Lift : To support facial structure and improve facial contours.
Why Do Fillers Form Lumps?
- Incorrect filler choice for the facial area.
- Excess filler used in a single session.
- Improper injection technique.
- Incompatibility with certain facial anatomy. To avoid lumps, fillers should be injected by experienced doctors using approved products. If lumps occur, they can be dissolved with hyaluronidase.
